Volume I covers A-K and contains 559 pages; Volume II covers L-Y and contains 628 pages. Printed in the United States on acid-free paper. Bound in matching tan cloth-covered boards with gilt-lettered red and black spine panels. Approximately 9.25 inches tall by 6.25 inches wide; large octavo, 8vo. A substantial and handsomely produced reference set preserving the original text of one of the foundational works of American legal lexicography. Bouvier's dictionary was specifically adapted to the Constitution and laws of the United States and the several states, while also providing references to civil and other foreign legal systems. Condition: Very Good+. Both volumes are clean, tight, square, and structurally sound. The cloth bindings remain attractive, with bright gilt spine lettering and only minimal shelf and handling wear.
